I know what you are thinking: why a yet another Freddy mask? The answer to that lies in my comment in the 'making of ' gallery about some mould-makers adding fibreglass or hessian to their moulds for strength. To cast a mask, one normally stands the mould open end up, fill it to the brim with liquid latex and leave it for an hour. It usually takes about 10 litres of latex to fill an average mould. One night I heard a crack from the kitchen, went to investigate, and found the mould for Freddy 2 had spilt apart from the strain. Ten litres of white liquid latex was pouring out onto the kitchen floor. It took some cleaning up, I can tell you.
